Beauvoir gets new Executive Director!

At the July 11, 2012 press conference at Beauvoir, The Jefferson Davis Home and Presidential Library, Rick Forte, Chairman of the Combined Boards of Beauvoir, introduces the new Executive Director of Beauvoir, Bert Hayes-Davis and his wife, Carol. Bert Hayes-Davis is the great, great grandson of President Jefferson Davis.

Jefferson Davis Presidential Museum and Library Update

The Jefferson Davis Presidential Library is completed. The first floor which included the gift store admissions and administration are open for visitors. The second floor galleries and library will be open in the next phase which will be finished on June 1, 2013. The Library includes a multipurpose room and three large galleries in addition to the Library room. Architectural aspect of the building brings a multitude of views and beauty to the property. It will be a destination as a unique building and historic library.

In Memorium

The Combined Boards of Beauvoir and the Beauvoir Staff join with the Sons of Confederate Veterans in mourning the loss of Mississippi Division Past Commander and Former Beauvoir Board of Trustees member, William E. Atkinson. His unique and abiding love of his Confederate heritage, Beauvoir, and the Mississippi Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans set him apart from his peers. His ever faithful service to our Cause will not be forgotten.
