New Update: December 2009Season's Greetings from Beauvoir! The Ground-breaking Ceremony for the new Jefferson Davis Presidential Library and Museum was a huge success! Over 100 people attended the Ceremony on Sunday, December 6, 2009. The keynote speaker was Bertram Hayes-Davis (Jefferson Davis's Great-Great Grandson). Other speakers were Larry Albert of Albert and Associates ,Architects and Andi Oustalet (a Mississippi Gulf Coast community leader). Distinguished guests included Gulfport, Mississippi Mayor George Schloegel, President-General Jane Durden of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Kelly Barrow, Commander of the Army of Tennessee, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Tom Strain, Executive Councilman, Army of Tennessee, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and Paul Gramling, Executive Councilman, Army of Trans-Mississippi, Sons of Confederate Veterans.
